Michigan vs. Michigan State prediction, odds: Wolverines are the Big Ten Tournament bet

While the Atlantic 10’s No. 4 seed (St. Bonaventure) and No. 6 seed (Saint Louis) battle for an NCAA Tournament berth in Brooklyn, formerly ranked St. John’s will spend Selection Sunday sweating in Queens.

Just like we all expected.

Michigan (PK) over Michigan State: Either the Wolverines complete a Big Ten Tournament three-peat, or John Beilein is getting beat by the same team three times in as many weeks. The former will be tough. The latter feels impossible. Following substandard efforts in back-to-back losses to its rival, the most efficient defense in the nation will continue its dominant run in the postseason. Over the past two games, the Wolverines have allowed an average of 51 points.

Harvard (+4½) over Yale: Sometimes, home court can help. Sometimes, it can add even more pressure, as the Bulldogs dealt with, while nearly suffering a huge upset to Princeton. Against a team which swept them during the regular season, it could be even worse. Expect another nail-biter, and Yale alum Charles Montgomery Burns singing a familiar tune on his walk back to the train: “Honestly, Smithers, I don’t know why Harvard even bothers to show up. They barely even won.”

Tennessee (-4½) over Auburn: After losing last year’s conference championship game, and extending the school’s SEC tournament title drought to four decades, the veteran Vols won’t have any issue finding motivation after ending Kentucky’s four-year reign with a rubber match win. And after losing to Auburn, 84-80, on the road eight days ago, Tennessee won’t take the step down in competition lightly.

St. Bonaventure (-1) Saint Louis: Once you unfurl, you can never go back.

This season: 11-10-1
2011-18 record: 224-189-8
